Dr. Rafael Mastov is a highly accomplished Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 20 years of outpatient clinical experience, recognized for his expertise in advanced orthopedic rehabilitation and hands-on manual therapy. As the Founder and Director of Advance Care Physical Therapy, P.C., established in 2004, Dr. Mastov has built a reputation for delivering exceptional, results-driven care to patients from across the United States and internationally.

Dr. Mastov earned his Bachelor of Science from the City University of New York at Staten Island, followed by a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the College of Staten Island. He later advanced his clinical expertise by completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Scholastica. His commitment to excellence is further demonstrated through advanced certifications from the American Academy of Manual and Physical Medicine, including specialized training in Pain Management, Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA), Operating Room Procedures, and completion of an MUA Proctorship.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Mastov has contributed significantly to the field of physical therapy through both research and education. He has presented at nationally recognized conferences, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine and the American Physical Therapy Association, and has lectured at academic institutions to mentor future physical therapists. His work has been published in the International Journal of Physical Therapy, highlighting his research in Spinal Decompression Therapy for neck and back pain.

Dr. Mastov’s clinical experience has been further enriched through collaboration with world-class orthopedic surgeons at leading medical centers, including the New York Maimonides Medical Center. His expertise spans a wide range of conditions, including rotator cuff repairs, ACL/PCL reconstructions, total joint replacements, spinal disorders, sciatica, and complex musculoskeletal injuries.

Specializing in orthopedic physical therapy, Dr. Mastov focuses on identifying and correcting biomechanical dysfunctions to restore optimal movement and function as efficiently and safely as possible. His treatment approach combines a strong foundation in evidence-based care with advanced hands-on techniques, including manual therapy, joint mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, cupping, and kinesio taping.
